On 30 October 2026, the Portuguese city of Bragança will host PANIBERIA 2026 – Iberian Festival of Bread, Cereals and Innovation, an event bringing together science, gastronomy, knowledge sharing and cross-border cooperation. The festival will also host the Final Scientific Summit of the European project TRANSCOLAB PLUS.

On October 30, 2026, Bragança ( Portugal) will become a meeting point for innovation in the agri-food sector with the celebration of PANIBERIA 2026 – Iberian Festival of Bread, Grains, and Innovation.

The event will bring together researchers, businesses, industry professionals and members of the public interested in exploring new opportunities to make the cereal and bread value chain more sustainable, innovative and circular.

The festival aims to provide a platform for exchanging knowledge, experiences and innovative solutions, highlighting the importance of collaboration between the scientific community and the business sector in strengthening the competitiveness and sustainability of the agri-food industry across the Spain–Portugal cross-border region.

A space to discover, share and innovate

PANIBERIA 2026 will offer a diverse programme combining scientific knowledge with practical experiences and live demonstrations.

The event’s main highlights will include an Innovation Fair, featuring companies and demonstrators linked to the TRANSCOLAB PLUS project; scientific and outreach sessions showcasing advances in the sector; and activities focused on the circular economy, by-product utilisation and the valorisation of agri-food resources.

Gastronomy will also play a prominent role, with live cooking activities and bread-making demonstrations bringing innovation closer to the public through one of the most representative foods of our culinary heritage: bread.

The programme will also feature the Iberian Bread Forum, a scientific poster exhibition and dedicated networking opportunities designed to encourage dialogue, exchange experiences and foster new collaborations among researchers, businesses and regional stakeholders

TRANSCOLAB PLUS will hold its Final Scientific Summit

One of the key highlights of PANIBERIA 2026 will be the Final Scientific Summit of TRANSCOLAB PLUS, a cross-border cooperation project co-funded by the European Union through the Interreg VI-A Spain–Portugal (POCTEP) 2021–2027 Programme.

TRANSCOLAB PLUS aims to strengthen collaboration between research centres, universities and companies in the agri-food and agro-industrial sectors of Castilla y León and Northern Portugal, promoting knowledge transfer, by-product valorisation and the development of more sustainable products and processes.

The Final Scientific Summit will provide an opportunity to share the project’s progress and results, showcase the work carried out by participating organisations and encourage the exchange of knowledge and experiences with other stakeholders in the innovation ecosystem.

In this way, PANIBERIA 2026 will also offer an opportunity to highlight the achievements of cross-border cooperation and explore new avenues for collaboration that contribute to the green transition of the agri-food sector.
