The TRANSCOLAB PLUS project was present at the 1st Bragança Agricultural Fair – FAB 2026, held June 18–21 at the IEFP’s Quinta da Trajinha in Bragança. Organized by the Municipality of Bragança, the fair brought together producers, companies, institutions, professionals from the agri-food sector, and the general public over four days to highlight agriculture, livestock, technological innovation, and local products.

FAB 2026 was created as a new gathering place to highlight the region’s agricultural and rural potential, combining tradition, technical expertise, and innovation. Throughout the fair, attendees had the opportunity to explore agricultural machinery, technological solutions, native breeds, regional products, culinary offerings, live demonstrations, and various activities designed for professionals, families, and visitors alike.
In this context, TRANSCOLAB PLUS participated in the fair’s program with a presentation that introduced the project and its main areas of focus. This participation helped raise awareness of the objectives of this cross-border cooperation initiative, which focuses on promoting innovation, knowledge transfer, and the valorization of resources in the agri-food sector, with a special focus on the grain industry and opportunities related to the circular economy.
During the presentation, the role of TRANSCOLAB PLUS as a tool for strengthening collaboration between organizations in Spain and Portugal was highlighted, fostering connections among knowledge centers, companies, producers, and local stakeholders. The project works to identify byproducts and resources with potential for utilization, promote new value-added solutions, and generate useful knowledge to improve the sector’s sustainability and competitiveness.

The FAB 2026 event provided an excellent opportunity to introduce the project to new audiences and forge ties with stakeholders in the cross-border agri-food ecosystem. The presence of local producers, companies, institutions, and industry professionals helped foster the exchange of experiences and highlight the importance of innovation in rural areas.
TRANSCOLAB PLUS’s participation in this event is part of its commitment to revitalizing the region, transferring knowledge, and promoting more sustainable models in the agri-food sector. Initiatives such as the Braganza Agricultural Fair help highlight local resources, strengthen cooperation networks, and demonstrate that agriculture and livestock farming are sectors with both a present and a future, capable of integrating tradition, technology, and sustainability.
The project will continue to promote collaboration, outreach, and knowledge transfer activities aimed at companies, research institutions, producers, and local stakeholders, with the goal of continuing to move toward a more innovative, circular, and interconnected agri-food model on both sides of the border.
